about me
Barry Frame is a sound designer, producer, musician and lecturer from Central Scotland.
Having played guitar from an early age, Barry began recording and writing songs and performing in many bands. During this time, Barry also developed a passion for recording music and built a small studio in his bedroom where he would record his music.
After performing in bands for many years, Barry decided to go back into education and began studying an HND in Sound Production at Forth Valley College. It was here that he discovered his love for sound design for tv and film. From here he went on to study a Bachelor of Arts in Commercial Sound Production at the University of the West of Scotland, Master of Design in Sound for the Moving Image at Glasgow School of Art and finally Post-Graduate Diploma in Teaching in Further Education.
Film projects that Barry has been involved in include: Setting Rainbow (2013), When the Tide Comes in (2014), James and the Urn (2014), The Running Man (2014), The Last Love Letter (2015), Please Come Home (2017), Anderson (2017) Urinal Cake (2018) and Crackpot (2018).
Barry also had the pleasure of designing the sound for Stirling’s Old Town Jail and The Bastion Dungeon which is situated in the Thistle Shopping Centre.
He also continues to work on sound projects and still performs music in the band The Dirty Martinis. Future projects include All in the Mind, which is a binaural radio drama and The Patter, a short comedy written by Barry.
